The Utah Olympic Park is a winter sports park built for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and is located in Summit County (28 miles [45 km] east of Salt Lake City) northwest of Park City, Utah, United States. During the 2002 games the park hosted the bobsleigh, skeleton, luge, ski jumping, and Nordic combined events. [1]
The resort has also developed summer activities including an alpine slide, alpine coaster, zip-lines, and several hiking and biking trails. [7] A sister ski area, originally known as Park City West and later as Canyons Resort, opened in 1968. Deer Valley Resort opened in December 1981, at the site of the former Snow Park (1946–69).

Alpine skiing at the 2002 Winter Olympics consisted of ten events held 10–23 February in the United States near Salt Lake City, Utah. The downhill, super-G, and combined events were held at Snowbasin, the giant slaloms at Park City, and the slaloms at adjacent Deer Valley. [1] [2]
