John 3:16 is the sixteenth verse in the third chapter of the Gospel of John, one of the four gospels in the New Testament.It is the most popular verse from the Bible [1] and is a summary of one of Christianity's central doctrines—the relationship between the Father (God) and the Son of God (Jesus).

Jesus' final words as recorded in Luke are simplified in John into "It is finished." [12]
For Paul eternal life is a future possession and "the eschatological goal towards which believers strive." [4] Paul emphasizes that eternal life is not merely something to be earned, but a gift from God, as in Romans 6:23: "wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Both words suggest "unfamiliar," "unexpected," "wonderful," and the distinction fades with time.
