Desire" is a song written by Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb, and originally recorded by the Bee Gees in 1978 during the sessions of Spirits Having Flown. Blue Weaver recalls that this version was originally intended for the album.
After Dark is the third and final studio album by English singer-songwriter Andy Gibb, released in February 1980, by RSO Records.It features Gibb's last US Top 10 single "Desire" (No. 4), [2] along with "I Can't Help It" (a duet with Olivia Newton-John) and two Bee Gees numbers "Rest Your Love on Me" (also a duet with Olivia Newton-John) and "Warm Ride".
In March 1980, the last of Gibb's Top 10 singles charted just ahead of the album's release. "Desire" (No. 4) was recorded for the Bee Gees' 1979 album Spirits Having Flown and featured their original track, complete with Gibb's original "guest vocal" track.
Thus the Bee Gees would return the favour as they appeared on Chicago's song "Little Miss Lovin'" and their keyboardist Blue Weaver appeared on "No Tell Lover". The Bee Gees also recorded "Desire" for the album but it was rejected and instead released as a solo single by their brother Andy.
