Joseph Alfred Lamy (père) (8 September 1850 – 1919), was an important French archetier (bow maker) of the early twentieth century known as Lamy Père. He was born in Mirecourt, Vosges, France, where he apprenticed from 1862 to 1868, and later worked from 1877 to 1885 for François Nicolas Voirin in Paris.
Tubbs first started making bows for William Ebsworth Hill around 1860 and continued that relationship until 1870. His bows made for W. E. Hill & Sons are stamped W E Hill and are sometimes double stamped. In the 1870s Tubbs settled on his own opening a shop at 94 Wardour Street. The early bows from this period were branded "J. TUBBS."

Marcel Charles Lapierre (1907–1979) was a French bow maker/archetier who has been described as a "maker of very fine bows much sought after by soloists." [1] Born 1907 in Mirecourt, served his apprenticeship in Jérôme Thibouville Lamy from 1921 to 1923. After his apprenticeship he joined Brouiller & Lotte's workshop.

René BAZIN (1906 - 1982) son and pupil of Charles-Louis (for bow making), pupil of Dieudonné (for instrument making). He was more attracted by violin making.

Bernard Ouchard (15 February 1925, in Mirecourt – 2 June 1979, in Vittel) was a French master bow maker and teacher in the School of Violin and Bowmaking of Mirecourt, France. He is considered by some to have been the last historical French master bow maker.
