Siti Nurhaliza was born on 11 January 1979, in Berek Polis (police barrack) Kampung Awah in Temerloh, Pahang, Malaysia.She is the fourth child in a family of seven siblings born to housewife Siti Salmah Bachik and police officer Tarudin Ismail.
[4] [6] In the original plan, the concert was supposed to take place at the Plenary Hall of Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) on 5 and 6 March 2016. [3] [4] However, after a follow-up meeting with the main organizers of the concert, the concert was later rescheduled to 2 April 2016. [7]
The chance for such a performance came when Istana Budaya decided to collaborate with Orkestra Tradisional Malaysia (OTM) [5] to have a full concert in which the set list was composed of traditional Malay songs and folksongs. The name of the concert was actually taken from one of her traditional albums, Lentera Timur (Eastern Beacon). [6]
Her first album under her own label, Transkripsi received critical acclaim by Malaysian music critics and was recognized as the Best Album by Anugerah Industri Muzik in 2007. Lentera Timur was the fourteenth studio album by Malaysian pop singer-songwriter Dato' Siti Nurhaliza which was released on 26 December 2008, four years after the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
