These interventions can encourage individuals to think in terms of the benefits/rewards of being persistent in their tasks and goals.

Distinct but commonly associated concepts within the field of psychology include perseverance, hardiness, resilience, ambition, need for achievement, conscientiousness, and tenacity.

Learned helplessness is a term to explain a specific pattern of behavior that occurs in both animals and humans.
