The Wildlife Express Train is an African themed 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge heritage railroad at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World, which opened on April 22, 1998. Its route is 1.2 miles (1.9 km) long and takes guests on a trip between the Africa and Rafiki's Planet Watch sections.
Wildlife Express Train, Harambe Station – a train ride to Rafiki's Planet Watch; Harambe Theater Festival of the Lion King – a live musical revue performance based on the 1994 classic animated film The Lion King.
It serves as the "central hub" connecting the other sections of the park by bridges, with the exception of Rafiki's Planet Watch. It was originally called Safari Village, as Discovery Island was the name for the small zoological park located in Walt Disney World's Bay Lake but was renamed after that area, which closed in 1999.
Rafiki then crosses paths with Mufasa, Taka, Sarabi and her familiar, flying protector Zazu (Preston Nyman), and the five of them proceed as a motley crew of wanderers.
