The Club's Main Team is one of the most successful university dancesport teams in the country. The Team, which usually consists of 24 couples, competes at a number of university circuit dancesport competitions during the year, including the Inter Varsity Dance Competition (IVDC) and is the reigning Inter Varsity Dance champion. The Cougarettes were originally established in 1946. In 1998, "Dance Spirit" magazine named the Cougarettes as one of the top 25 collegiate dance teams in the nation, and in the year 2000, the Cougarettes began performing with the Cheer Squad at sporting competitions in halftime performances. [2]

1962: Oxford Youth Theatre (OYT) opened for 14- to 21-year-olds. The group was run by Roy Copeman, [1] an ex-Air Force pilot. From the 1950s, Roy Copeman ran drama groups in East Oxford including the Gladiators, in Marston Road. OYT take up residence in a former schools meals service kitchen in Magdalen Road in East Oxford.

Their routines encompass various styles of dance including the more usually incorporated hip hop, jazz, lyrical, and kickline styles, to the more unusually used styles like disco, rock and roll, and gospel.
