Two of the sites are associated with the historical Beothuk. Boyd's Cove, the larger of the two, is 3,000 m 2 (32,000 sq ft) and is on top of a 6 m (20 ft) glacial moraine. The coarse sand, gravel, and boulders were left behind by glaciers. The artifacts provide answers to an economic question: why did the Beothuk avoid Europeans?
