This is a list of lakes in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. Virginia has two natural lakes, and several man-made lakes and reservoirs. [ 1 ] Swimming, fishing, and/or boating are permitted in some of these lakes, but not all.
The area is located in the Appalachian Mountains of Southwestern Virginia and Eastern Tennessee, about 6 miles west of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee and 2 miles southwest of Damascus, Virginia. It is bounded by Tennessee Highway 133 on the east. [3] [4] The Appalachian Trail passes through the area for 4.0 miles.
