Columbus is an unincorporated community in Johnson County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] The community is on Missouri Route M approximately 2.5 miles north of US Route 50. Warrensburg is ten miles to the southeast. The North Fork of the Blackwater River flows past one half mile to the southwest. [2]

The current church building, constructed in 1899, originally housed the Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church/Peace Lutheran Church. The Olive Chapel AME congregation bought it in 1923. [2] The church still has its original bell, pews, and stained glass windows. [2] The Quinette Cemetery was associated with this church from 1866 until 2002. [4]
The Chapel was one of many gifts given across Missouri by the Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation. The Chapel was designed by architect O. W. Stiegmeyer of St. Louis and built by the B. D. Simon Construction Company of Columbia. It was dedicated by the Greens on October 11, 1959, with four goals in mind.

Peace Valley is a small unincorporated community in eastern Howell County, Missouri, United States. [1] It is located approximately two miles east of Route 17 on Route W. A post office called Peace Valley has been in operation since 1876. [2] The community has the name of Elgin and William Peace, pioneer settlers. [3]
