Tweet. #15. 02-20-2011, 05:41 AM. I was not aware that Wizzard has switched from polymer to neo magnets with the Extreme car. Storm cars have big traction magnets, even the lower strength neo magnets could be too powerful for a car with a stock 6 ohm armature.
The first obvious difference between the P3 and the P2 was that the P3 body mounting posts are more slender and have ridges on them. The P3 cars came standard with the “elf” style pickup shoes. The guide pin was repositioned on the newer car and the chassis now had holes for two different wheelbases.
New Wizzard Fusion Car. 06-23-2019, 07:22 AM. I just got a link to a Facebook page with this new Wizzard Fusion HO car. The new car seems to have features of both the Tyco and Slottech cars plus the BSRT G3 or Viper Scale Racing Viper. The end bell is a separate part like a Tyco 440X-2 or a Slottech. It looks like the molded in body posts have ...
07-30-2013, 08:09 PM. Wizzard P2E & Storm on AFX Track. After years of racing Tyco, AFX, & LifeLike on my Tomy sectional track (four lane, each with a "tri-power" pack, AFX controllers), I picked up a used Wizzard P2E (Patriot 2 Extreme, I think) from an estate sale.
A Wizzard Storm RO car costs $175. A minimum of 5 amps per lane is needed to run this sort of car. You would want to have at least 12GA track wiring with lots of jumpers. Everyone that I have seen racing these cars uses a high end electronic controller, preferably one that has a coast control. slotking.
Cars like the Storm will tend to slow down if crud has accumulated on the commutator. A shot of CRC spray contact cleaner on the commutator once in a while will not hurt. If that does not get the commutator completely clean metal polish will. After using metal polish flush the commutator with contact cleaner.
My home layout (view my album) is also AFX/Tomy sectional track. On this particular car, I'm running .450 diameter Wizzard silicone coated sponge tires (orange) on the rear; .350 diameter thin independent wheel/tire combo on the front. Here is one of my other two Wizzard cars (LTR-Patriot 2 Extreme): IMG_3068.jpg.
08-18-2014, 05:43 PM. Wizzard Patriot / Wizzard Storm Chassis Comparo. Here are the chassis differences. P2E is on left; Storm on right: Top View: Storm has longer (and I believe stronger) chassis magnets, adjustable guide pin and commutator brush tubes. Both cars are modified, with Wizzard Rear silicone covered sponge tires, independent front ...
with production cars, they just pop them together and send them out. 1> you find a some fast and some slow. 2> given the down force, a ceramic car should be straight line faster. 3> not sure if all the neo mags are the grade or if some need rezapping, those cars with weaker neo mags should be faster as well. cryer-evo.
It would cost about $63 to build another example of that car. The best lap time with Wizzard white 0.336 tires was 5.487 seconds, for regular silicone slip-on Pro Series tires it was 5.652, for the Batch 1 tires it was 5.529, for Batch 2 it was 5.478 and for Batch 3 it was 5.570 seconds.
