In about 1681, a group of Welsh Quakers met with William Penn to secure a land grant to conduct their affairs in their language.
North Wales Elementary School is part of the North Penn School District. The building was North Wales High School from 1927 until North Penn High School was built in the 1950s; it then became an elementary school.
