Mzuzu University is one of the principal universities of Malawi. The university is located in Luwinga, Mzuzu City, in the northern region of Malawi. It was founded in 1997 after being transformed from a teachers training college established in 1970s. It accepted its first students in 1999.

Mzuzu Bible College is a private college located in Mzuzu, Malawi. It is affiliated with the Churches of Christ . Mzuzu Bible College was started in 1992 by an American missionary, Jame D. Rujat. [ 1 ]
The club was founded in 1997 as Mzuzu University Football Club and was commonly known as Mzuni FC, nicknamed the green intellectuals or the students. [1]After several years of competing in the regional championship, Mzuni FC earned the first promotion to Super League of Malawi at the end of the 2000–01 season, winning Mzuzu and Districts Football League.
The main campus of MKU is located in Thika, approximately 47 kilometres (29 mi) by road northeast of Nairobi, the capital and largest city in Kenya. Bingu wa Mutharika was born Brightson Webster Ryson Thom on 24 February 1934 in the village of Kamoto in Thyolo District, and is a member of the Lomwe ethnic group. [2] [3] Mutharika's parents, Ryson Thom Mutharika and Eleni Thom Mutharika, were both members of the Church of Scotland Mission which later became Church of Central Africa, Presbyterian.
