George F. Straub founded the clinic in 1921. [1] Dr. Straub was educated in Germany and came to practice in Hawaii in 1907. [2] In 1910, he conceived the idea of forming a group of physicians to provide better, more specialized care for his patients. It, however, took over 10 years to bring this idea to fruition.
Hawaii Pacific Health was formed in December 2001 with the merger of four hospitals: Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Pali Momi Medical Center (formerly Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi), Straub Clinic & Hospital, and Wilcox Memorial Hospital. It is the largest nonprofit? healthcare organization in Hawaii. [1]
