Reuss was drafted in the second round of the 1967 Major League Baseball draft by the Cardinals after graduating from Ritenour High School in Overland, Missouri. He won his first Major League game in 1969, and became part of the starting rotation in 1970. [2] In the spring of 1972, Reuss wanted a raise from $17,000 to $25,000.

Ridnour was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and grew up in Blaine, Washington. [1] His father, Rob, was his basketball coach during high school. His father gave him the keys to the gym during his sophomore year; he was able to practice during the day and late into the night.
