Iveco introduced the New Daily with electric propulsion and zero exhaust emissions, in which a battery system powers an electric three-phase asynchronous motor – through the aid of an inverter – in charge of moving the vehicle directly while recovering energy during braking.
Available as a panel van, minibus and chassis, the Iveco Daily Electric is a purely electrically powered vehicle. It is optionally equipped with a 60 or 80 kW electric motor. It takes 10 hours to charge the ZEBRA batteries, or 2 hours in the shortened quick charge mode.
A fully electric variant of the vehicle is sold in China, as the Maxus EV70. There are multiple battery size and space options: 77 kWh or 88 kWh net capacity. It comes as L1H1 (4998x2030x1990 mm), L2H1 (5364x2030x1990 mm) and L2H2 (5364x2030x2390 mm). The Onboard-Charger is capable of 11 kW AC, while via DC 90 kW is possible.
The Hyundai ST1 is a battery electric light commercial vehicle manufactured by Hyundai since 2024. Described by the company as a "purpose-built vehicle" (PBV), the ST1 is built with a cabin and dashboard from the Staria, with a boxed rear body. ST1 stands for "Service Type 1". [2] The ST1 was introduced in March 2024.
Deliveries will start in the second half of 2025 to complement the thirty-five IVECO BUS GX ELEC battery electric buses already in the fleet. Lorient Agglomération has also chosen IVECO BUS's hydrogen technology for its network, with nineteen GX 337 H2 LINIUM buses, five of which will enter service in the second half of 2025.
In November 2019, Nikola Motor Company and Iveco presented the jointly developed Nikola Tre electric truck, with a power of 644 hp (480 kW), a maximum torque of 1,800 N⋅m (1,300 lbf⋅ft), a battery of 720 kWh and a range of up to 400 km (250 mi). It is developed on the basis of the Iveco S-Way.
