Vidal Tampinco (1937; interior) The Kalayaan Hall (Filipino: Bulwagang Kalayaan ) [ 1 ] is a government building within the Malacañang Palace complex in Manila , Philippines . It houses the Presidential Museum and Library.
Its posts were strengthened, roof tiles replaced with corrugated iron sheets, balconies repaired, and both the exterior and interior were beautified. [5] More recently, between 1978 and 1979, the palace building was drastically remodeled and extensively rebuilt by First Lady Imelda Marcos [5] during the tenure of Ferdinand Marcos. [4]

It is a general reference library for use by official and employees of the palace; as well as students and researchers. In January 1950, it was placed under the Office of Public Information; [2] but was made a separate entity at a later date. After this period, two separate distinctions arose to refer to the collections of the Malacañang Palace.
