The Tick is an American television series created for Amazon Prime Video by Ben Edlund, based on his comic book character of the same name. It is the second live-action series based on the character on which Edlund worked, after the cancelled 2001 series that aired on Fox. Its pilot premiered on August 18, 2016.
The series led to Christopher McCulloch, who wrote for the Tick comic book, animated series, and sitcom, meeting Patrick Warburton during filming; shortly after, he cast Warburton as the voice of Brock Samson for his Adult Swim series, The Venture Bros. Tick creator Ben Edlund also wrote for The Venture Bros. on occasion.
The second season of The Tick, titled The Tick vs. Season Two, was released on August 7, 2007. [7] This DVD release is not the complete set, however, as it is missing the episode "Alone Together." This episode features Omnipotus, a parody of Galactus (though earlier episodes used similar comic book parodies, and are available on the DVD releases).
Arthur is the Tick's sidekick. He is formally introduced in The Tick #4, but appears as a mysterious flying figure in the background of earlier issues of that series. Trained as an accountant, Arthur purchased his moth suit at an auction and decided to pursue the life of a superhero (resulting in indefinite "psychiatric leave" from his accounting firm).
