Realizing Galvatron now has the Matrix, the Autobots and the Junkions fly to Cybertron. Galvatron attempts to threaten Unicron, but like Ultra Magnus, cannot activate the Matrix. In response, Unicron transforms into a colossal robot and begins to dismember Cybertron. When Galvatron attacks him, Unicron swallows him and the Matrix whole.
Dark Energon, on the other hand, is a corrupted form of energon and the blood of Unicron the Chaos-Bringer, Primus's fallen brother. Primus makes up the core of Cybertron, and it is eventually revealed that Unicron makes up the Earth's core. Megatron injects himself with Dark energon in order to gain control over it and become stronger.
Transformers: Armada was written and produced in Japan, with creative input from America (the Japanese originally envisioned the series as set in the G1 continuity, but this idea was discarded by Hasbro, who also mandated the inclusion of Unicron, who had not been in the original story treatment for the series).
