The five core program streams at the FEI are: Leadership for a Democratic Society (LDS), the FEI SES Leading EDGE Portfolio, Custom Executive Programs (CEP), Open Enrollment Courses (OEP), and the Center for Global Leadership (CGL). Programs, workshops, and courses are designed and administered by a team of federally employed faculty and staff.

The Defense Civilian Training Corps (DCTC) is a program of the United States Department of Defense to recruit and train university students for careers as civil servants in the department. Training occurs via campus-based instruction at participating universities.
