Creates a Google custom-search link, which searches one site (and, optionally, pages with URLs containing one directory path in the site). (If you want to search on the entire Web, use {{}} instead.)
To get there, type "Template:foo" in the search box (see search), or make a wikilink like [[Template:foo]] somewhere, such as in the sandbox, and click on it. Once you are there, just click "edit" or "edit this page" at the very top of the page (not the documentation edit button lower down) and edit it in the same way that you would any other page.
[[Category:Documentation templates]] to the <includeonly> section at the bottom of that page. Otherwise, add <noinclude>[[Category:Documentation templates]]</noinclude> to the end of the template code, making sure it starts on the same line as the code's last character.
This template is a cut-down instance of the more general {{Google custom}} template. You may wish to make similar templates if you need to create repetitive links to other portions of Wikipedia that {{Google custom}} can search.
The {{documentation}} template is used to contain the documented information and instructions of a certain template, usually from a /doc subpage. It can also be configured to load the content from other pages or be directly fed by text.
