State Road 520 (SR 520) is a 34.5-mile (55.5 km) east–west state highway in central Florida, United States, connecting with SR 50 in the Orlando area with SR A1A in Cocoa Beach. Route description [ edit ]
Major intersections include SR 528 (diamond interchange), Michigan Avenue, CR 503, and SR 520. I-95 – There are three interchanges within city limits: SR 520 (exit 201), SR 524 (exit 202), and SR 528 (exit 205). SR 501 – This is the secondary north–south road in Cocoa, known locally as Clearlake Road. It runs from SR 524 to SR 520.
In the 1960s, SR A1A was routed over the eastern causeway from present day SR 520 and SR A1A, to the present day intersection of SR 520 and SR 3 on Merritt Island. The eastern section is known as the Cocoa Beach Causeway.
North of New Haven Avenue (US 192/SR 500) in West Melbourne, CR 509 is known locally as Wickham Road; south of the U.S. Highway, its street name is Minton Road (in the 1980s and 1990s, this 5.6 miles (9.0 km) section of current CR 509 was signed by Florida Department of Transportation as State Road 509).
The pedestrian — an unidentified 53-year-old Cocoa man — died later at Rockledge Regional Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation.
