The Withlacoochee airfield was used by the CWS Unit as a landing strip for the planes used in the field trials at Withlacoochee Bombing & Gunnery Range. Several military herbicides for defoliation and crop destruction were tested at the airfield. After World War II ended, the airstrip was abandoned and apparently has not been used ever since.

"Troupville" (occasionally recorded as Troupeville) is an extinct unincorporated community in Lowndes County, Georgia, United States, near Valdosta.Troupville was a riverboat landing near the confluence of the Withlacoochee River and the Little River (Withlacoochee River) at the uppermost navigable point.
This lake is surrounded by the Withlacoochee State Forest. On the south shore are the Silver Lake Campgrounds. A public boat ramp on the lake shore is within the campgrounds. On the northwest this lake is bounded by Interstate 75. The entire shore of Silver Lake is forested.
