When creating an app password, use a browser that you've used to sign into AOL Mail for several days in a row and avoid using Incognito mode. If this isn’t successful, use webmail or the official AOL App to access your email. Customer care can’t override this process of determining App Password creation eligibility.
Find your application's "Email Accounts" or "Account Settings" section, select your AOL Mail account, then update to your new password. If you've activated 2-step verification for your AOL account, you'll need to generate and use an "app password" to access AOL Mail from these apps.
Remove and re-enter your AOL Mail password. (Note: If you use an app password for Outlook, you may need to create a new app password. See the info below.) Check the status.
