Spike Island was a concert by the Stone Roses held on 27 May 1990 in Widnes, Cheshire, England. It was never officially recorded, although bootleg audio recordings and clips have emerged online, and there were rumours that the full video of the concert existed.

The band finally organised a full UK tour for November and December 1995 and all dates sold out in a day. John Squire announced his departure on 1 April 1996, releasing a statement saying it was: "the inevitable conclusion to the gradual social and musical separation that we have undergone in the past few years". [ 89 ]
It contained a series of tracks recorded at a concert in Blackpool, Lancashire, England on 12 August 1989. [1] The release was directed by Geoff Wonfor, who also worked with Paul McCartney, Eurythmics and on the TV show The Tube. It is considered to be one of their best and most well-known live performances.
