Villaldama is a municipality in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico [1] extending over 870.5 km². Ciudad Villaldama is its principal town and seat of government. It is located in the northern part of the state, coordinates 26º30´ N and 100º25´ W., with an elevation of 420 m above sea level.

The municipality has an area of 117.7 km 2 (45.4 sq mi) (58.42 sq mi). The city was founded on 4 January 1716, but the land was inhabited long before that.
