Dempsey James Barron (March 5, 1922 – July 7, 2001) was an American attorney, businessman, rancher, and politician. He served as President Pro-Tempore of the Florida Senate from 1967 to 1968, and as President from 1975 to 1976. He also was a long-standing Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee.

Charles Barron (born October 7, 1950) is an American activist and politician who served in the New York City Council, representing Brooklyn's 42nd district from 2022 to 2023.
He was born on December 25, 1955, to Leirona Turman and James Pressley Barron (1920–2006). His father served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was an analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency. He received the Intelligence Commendation Medal upon his retirement in 1985. [2]
