Dalquharran Castle is a category A listed building in South Ayrshire, Scotland, designed by Robert Adam and completed around 1790. The first recorded lord of the property which already included a castle, was Gilbert Kennedy, as stated in a 1474 Charter for the nearby Crossraguel Abbey; the estate was later owned by the Kennedy family for centuries.
A ruined medieval castle originally built on the site of an earlier defended position from around 1095 to 1125 by Guy de Balliol. In the 15th century the castle passed by marriage to the Neville family who improved the castle and the estate over the next two centuries. Crosbie Castle (NS 343 300) and the Fullarton estate lie near Troon in South Ayrshire. The site was the home of the Fullarton family for several centuries. The lands were part of the feudal Barony of Corsbie Fullartoune (sic). [1] The Crosbie Castle ruins were eventually used as an ice house after the new Fullarton House mansion was built.
