This model systematizes the colour, the name of the candidate and the name of the party for the results in elections for the most standard type of table. Syntaxe [ edit ]
A more sophisticated effect in election results tables can be achieved using this template. This adds a link to the candidate's party and also adds a color tab to the left of the candidate. See Election box begin and Election box end. See this template's page for a new party.
Note that template parameters in this section have an "n" in their name. This should be substituted with the number of the candidate in order of appearance in the template. Up to 20 candidates are supported. Political party. In non-partisan elections, political parties can be left out at the discretion of the editor.
The candidate template is used once for each candidate and contributes a row to the table. Each candidate template should use the same number of countX parameters, and these should match numcounts in the begin and end templates. For example, if numcounts = 3 then all candidate templates should contain the count1, count2, and count3 parameters.
The HTML markup produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the person's details parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue articles across Wikipedia or via a browser tool operated by a reader, to (for example) add the subject to an address book or database.
