The extreme eastern portion of Northland Township is located within the Cloquet Valley State Forest of Saint Louis County. U.S. Highway 53 runs north–south through the township. Saint Louis County Highway 133 (CR 133) runs east–west through the middle of Northland Township; the roadway continues west to Meadowlands.

The Cloquet City Hall, also known as the Spafford Building, is located at Avenue B and Arch Street in Cloquet in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The red brick Colonial Revival building was built in 1920 and features quoins, keystones, and an entablature with a high parapet. Tall stone pilasters extend to the high cornice. [2]
