The Saratoga and North Creek Railway was a heritage railway that began operation in July 2011. Passenger operations ceased on April 7, 2018, and the final revenue freight train to remove stored tank cars operated in May 2018. [1]

The line was opened from Schenectady to Ballston Spa on July 12, 1832, and extended to Saratoga Springs in 1833 for a total of 20.8 miles (33.5 km). The Rensselaer and Saratoga Railroad leased the line on January 1, 1851, and the lease was reassigned to the Delaware and Hudson Canal Company on May 1, 1871. [2]

The station served as the northern terminus of the Saratoga and North Creek Railway from 2011 to 2018, when the railroad ceased operation. The Saratoga and North Creek revived both the ski trains and summer service south to Saratoga Springs. The railway occupied both the freight house and engine house.
