John Michael Wallace (born October 28, 1940), is a professor of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington, as well as the former director of the Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO)—a joint research venture between the University of Washington and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Peter Victor Hobbs (1936–2005) was a British-born professor of atmospheric sciences and director of the Cloud and Aerosol Research Group at the University of Washington. His research interests were in the physics and chemistry of the atmosphere, focusing on the roles played by aerosols, clouds, and precipitation.
She earned an M.S. from Stanford University in 1960 [3] and a Ph.D. in physics in 1971 from the University of Washington. [4] She remained at the University of Washington following her Ph.D., initially as a research associate. [3] She was promoted to professor of geophysics and atmospheric sciences in 1988.
