North Bend lies on the north bank of the Platte River, [4] at the intersection of U.S. Route 30 and Nebraska Highway 79. The main east–west line of the Union Pacific Railroad passes through the city. North of Schuyler, US 30 has an interchange with N-15. US 30 then becomes a two-lane highway east of Schuyler through Rogers and meets N-79 in North Bend. It continues east and becomes a divided highway in the Fremont area, serving as the Fremont bypass.

The North Bend Carnegie Library is a Carnegie library located at 140 E. 8th St. in North Bend, Nebraska.The library was funded by the Carnegie Foundation in 1911 and dedicated in 1913; it housed a library program started by the city's Woman's Club in 1906.
