RTVE Play is an over-the-top video on demand streaming service owned and operated by RTVE which replaced the latter's old streaming portal 'alacarta' in June 2021. El juego) is a Spanish legal thriller limited television series adapting the Roberto Santiago's novel Ana. It is jointly produced by RTVE, Tornasol, DeAPlaneta and ZDF Enterprises. Directed by Salvador García and Gracia Querejeta, the series stars Maribel Verdú for the leading role. It was released on RTVE Play on 21 September 2021. [1]
The series was produced by Little Dreams Films AIE, Set Màgic Audiovisual, The Fly Hunter and Empatic Films for RTVE Play with the participation of À Punt Mèdia and IB3, funding from Crea SGR, backing from IVC [] and the collaboration of Canary Islands Film – Gobierno de Canarias.
The series is a Good Mood and RTVE production. [7] [8] the series was created by Daniel Écija, Ángel Turlán, and Borja González Santaolalla. [9]After the broadcast of the first two episodes, González Santaolalla vented that one of the co-writers credited onscreen as responsible for the screenplay (and assumed to be Écija) had not written a single line of dialogue.
The series was presented at the Vitoria-based FesTVal in September 2024. [8] [9] RTVE initially set a 18 September 2024 debut date on La 1, [10] but postponed it to 25 September to give its daily series Valle salvaje a prime-time premiere ahead of its arrival in the afternoon slot. [11]
