When the alarm goes off, the OCM functionality will be checked by crew members. [1] An OCM is a small part of what is called the oil discharge monitoring and control system. The first part is the oil content meter. The second is a flow meter which measures the flow rate of the water at the discharge pipe. [5]
OCL – quality control log; OCM – offshore construction manager; OCS – offshore construction supervisor; OCTG – oil country tubular goods (oil well casing, tubing, and drill pipe) [23] OD – outer diameter (of a tubular component such as casing [citation needed]) ODT – oil down to; OFE – oil field equipment; OFST – offset vertical ...
If the OCM ends up sampling a certain amount of heavy oil, the OCM will be fouled and it will need to be flushed or cleaned. [4] Shipboard engine room. The cleaning can be done by running fresh water through the OCM via a permanent connection or can be performed by opening the OCM sample area and scrubbing the sample area with a bottle brush. [4]
All oil tankers with a gross tonnage of larger than 150 must have efficient Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment on board. [3] [4] The oily discharge is sent out to sea through a pump. [5] The oily mixture has to pass through a series of sensors to determine whether it is acceptable to be sent to the discharge pipe. [6]
The oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) is a potential chemical reaction studied in the 1980s for the direct conversion of natural gas, primarily consisting of methane, into value-added chemicals. Although the reaction would have strong economics if practicable, no effective catalysts are known, and thermodynamic arguments suggest none can exist.

A typical Master Control Station. On the top-side facilities of offshore oil and gas platforms, the Master Control Station (MCS) is a dedicated system that controls and retrieves data from subsea equipment on the ocean floor. The MCS is supplied by the manufacturers of the subsea control modules (SCM), an MCS is required for each vendor.
The difference is sent as a signal to a level control valve (LCV) on the liquid outlet from the vessel. As the level rises the controller acts to open the valve to draw off liquid to reduce the level. Similarly as the levels fall the controller acts to close the LCV to reduce outflow of fluid. [4] Some vessels store liquid until it is pumped out.
