Michael Jerome Oher (/ ɔː r /; né Williams Jr.; [1] born May 28, 1986) is an American former professional football player who was a tackle for eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels , earning unanimous All-American honors as a senior in 2008.
Oher was born in Memphis, Tenn., on May 28, 1986, to Denise Oher and Michael Jerome Williams. He was one of 12 children and bounced between foster homes from the age of 7.
