Sierra-at-Tahoe is a ski and snowboard resort in Twin Bridges, California south of Lake Tahoe.Sierra-at-Tahoe is approximately 16 miles (26 km) south of Stateline, Nevada and 12 miles south of South Lake Tahoe on U.S. Route 50 and is contained within the Eldorado National Forest.
In 1981 the resort was purchased by the Snow Summit company and the name was changed to Sierra Summit before the 1982-1983 season. During this period, it was operated by Dick Kun. [ 4 ] In the spring of 2010 it was sold to Tim Cohee and the original China Peak name was restored beginning in the 2010-2011 season.
Sierra Nevada is Europe's southernmost ski resort, [3] and the highest in Spain. [4] Due to its high elevation, the skiing season can last from late November until early May. Particularly towards the end of the season it experiences sunny days of skiing, although wind can be problematic for skiers due to Veleta's prominence and few trees.
