Singapore won the gold medal in the 1954 Asian Games, beating favourite Japan, 4–2 in the finals. The 2019 FINA Water Polo Challengers' Cup is an international water polo tournament held at the OCBC Aquatic Centre in Singapore from 8 to 13 October 2019. It is the seventh edition of the tournament which was known as the FINA World Water Polo Development Trophy until the 2017 edition.
