University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UH Cleveland Medical Center), formerly known as University Hospitals Case Medical Center (UH Case Medical Center), is a large not-for-profit academic medical complex in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. [2] UH Cleveland Medical Center is the main campus of University Hospitals.
Opened in 2019, the campus consists of two buildings, the Sheila and Eric Samson Pavilion and the Dental Clinic, constructed at a combined price tag of $515 million. [1] The 477,000-square-foot Samson Pavilion was designed by Norman Foster, Baron Foster of Thames Bank of Foster + Partners in London, United Kingdom and earned a LEED-Gold certification.
The new expansion includes a 40,000 square foot emergency department, a 24-bed Critical Care Unit, a 250 car underground parking structure, and a new patient bed tower that added 96 private patient rooms to the facility. The emergency department opened in January 2014, and the Critical Care Unit opened three months later.

Additionally, the deal allowed the Cleveland Clinic to take over the hospital after a year, and Cleveland Clinic was allowed to choose three board members on Akron Gen's board. [12]

Also in 2008, the Hanna Theatre underwent a thorough renovation with improvements to its stage including a new hydraulic lift system. The Hanna is now home to Great Lakes Theater, Cleveland's classic theater company which previously performed at the Ohio Theatre.
