The Transformers (later retitled as Transformers) is a comic book line by IDW Publishing based upon Hasbro's Transformers characters and toy line, featuring many writers and artists across multiple series.
Following the bankruptcy of Dreamwave Productions in 2005, IDW picked up the Transformers comic book license and hired veteran writer Simon Furman to craft a rebooted continuity based on the Generation 1 toy line, similar to what Marvel Comics did through Ultimate Marvel.

The toy for this version of Ultra Magnus is a recolor of the Robots in Disguise toy and came packaged with Ironhide. This package was a Walmart store exclusive in 2004. The Voice Actor Drama was written for OFTCC 2004 by Simon Furman, set after the events in the comics.
On July 10, 2017, Hasbro announced to release a toy set titled Revolution Comic Crossover Preview Mega-Set as an anticipation to IDW's First Strike, and features sixteen figures from Transformers, G.I. Joe, Rom, Micronauts, Action Man, M.A.S.K., and Visionaries. [3]
