The tornado struck the town of Charlotte, where multiple grain bins, garages, and outbuildings were heavily damaged or destroyed. Homes and other structures in town sustained roof damage, and one building had a brick exterior wall blown out. A large propane tank was ruptured, causing a gas leak that prompted evacuation of half of the town.
