Re: 45 ACP Loads. by Allgoodhits 8/13/2019, 2:48 pm. 4.2 BE should be an acceptable starting point for just about any .45 acp load. Many use 3.5 - 4.0 for 180-200 gr lead or coated bullets. 4.2 will just be more potent, but not excessive in most guns with those bullets.
Re: Titegroup for 45 ACP. I use 4.2 gr of titegroup for 45 acp 200gr swc in my les baer wadcutter. From the same sources, 4.8 gr of titegroup for the hardball amo: 45 acp 230 FMJ in my ball gun. Re: Loading 45acp with Red Dot. by Wobbley Wed Dec 30, 2020 1:22 pm. Here is a screenshot of some data comparing 4 powders Red Dot, 700X, Bullseye, and 452AA. The gun used was a 10 inch Contender. Each was run in Quickload to get an idea on velocity differential between a 10 inch and a 5 inch barrel as well as a guesstimate of pressure.
45 acp load recommendations. I’m looking for True Blue load recommendations for .45 ACP: 230 gr HC (hard cast) RN and. 185 gr HC SWC. Low end of the +P range would be nice. Based on what I could find from the Hodgdon’s website and Handlloader magazine: 230 gr HC RN: 7.2 - 8.4 gr True Blue. 185 gr HC SWC: 8.8 - 9.2 gr True Blue.

Re: 160gr 45 loads. My load for the 160 is 4.05 to 4.3 of BE depending on the strength of the lot in use. Experimentation with 4.8 of W231 and 4.4 of 700x shot well also. Right now I'm working on WST, of which 8 lbs was obtained during the last pdr shortage, and am at 3.8 gr w/it.
Depending on which powder you are going to use, and the charge weight you work up, you can use the 230 grain load data for your 225 grain cast boolits. If a 41 won't stop it, I wouldn't bet my life on a 44. If you type in on the net search, 45acp 225 grain load data, that should keep you busy for aong time.
Greetings, I was going to load and barrel test some of the Zero 0.451" 185 JHP and using QuickLoad and Gordons Reloading Tool I calculate 3.6 grains of VV N310 for a velocity of 775 FPS. In the past, most Federal, Winchester, Western, Peters, and Remington 185 grain match ammo chronographed about 775 FPS average.
