St. Anthony Catholic High School was founded in 1903 by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate as a junior seminary. In 1995, the University of the Incarnate Word assumed management of St. Anthony and formed St. Anthony Catholic High School for boys; from this point on, the school would no longer remain a seminary.
The basic curriculum at St. Anthony's includes required courses in Theology, English, Social Studies and Physical Education (4 years); Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language (3 years); Fine Arts (Health, Art, Music or Drama) (1 year). Honors and Advanced Placement courses are offered to students who qualify, with electives in all disciplines.
The high school began classes on August 31, 2009, with an enrollment of 107 students. It was the first new Catholic high school in the Milwaukee archdiocese in more than 25 years and the first Catholic high school on the south side within the boundaries of the city of Milwaukee since St. Mary's Academy closed in 1991.
