The Victoria Golf and Country Resort is one of the newest Golf Clubs in Sri Lanka. The resort is situated on a former 209 ha (520 acres) coconut and coffee plantation, located adjacent to the Victoria Reservoir. The concept was initially conceived by Mark Bostock, the former chairman of John Keells Holdings in 1950s. [1]

Victoria Dam (Sinhala: වික්ටෝරියා වේල්ල Viktoriya Vella) is an arch dam located 130 mi (209 km) upstream of the Mahaweli River's mouth and 4 mi (6 km) from Teldeniya in Sri Lanka. It is named in honour of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. Its main purposes are irrigation and hydroelectric power production.
