Hobe Sound is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Martin County, Florida, United States, located along Florida's Treasure Coast. The population was 13,163 at the 2020 census , [ 2 ] up from 11,521 in 2010.
Martin County was created in 1925 with the northern portion coming from St. Lucie County and southern portion coming from Palm Beach County.It was named for John W. Martin, Governor of Florida from 1925 to 1929.
The Hobe Sound Nature Center is a private non-profit nature center that cooperates with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to conduct environmental education and awareness programs about the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge.
