The 25th Infantry Division (nicknamed "Tropic Lightning") [1] is a United States Army division based at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. The division, which was activated on 1 October 1941 in Hawaii, conducts military operations primarily in the Asia-Pacific region. Its present deployment is composed of light infantry and aviation units.

On 23 October, the brigade's colors were formally uncased at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. This signified the end of the brigade's relocation to Hawaii as well as its completion and readiness to take on new missions. [45] The brigade took command of the 6th, 65th and 84th Engineer battalions. [46]
The brigade conducted its first two-week summer training at Schofield Barracks between 13 and 27 June 1959. [5] During the Vietnam War , the brigade was ordered into active Federal service on 13 May 1968 and released from Federal service on 12 December 1969.
The commands soldiers also served on Oahu at a number of commands including Fort Shafter, Schofield Barracks, Fort Ruger, Fort Armstrong, Fort Kamehameha, Hickam Field, Luke Field and Tripler General Hospital. The 9th Signal Service Company moved its unit headquarters from Honolulu to Fort Shafter in 1921.
