After long speculations who would take over the show, ZDF announced on 11 March 2012 that Markus Lanz would be the next presenter. His first show was on 6 October 2012 [4] and the last show was on 13 December 2014. [5] The show got a satirical homage with fake bets in 2016 for two episodes of 45 minutes each.
