Leominster (/ ˈ l ɛ m ə n s t ər / LEM-ən-stər) is a city in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. It is the second-largest city in Worcester County, with a population of 43,222 [3] at the 2023 census. [4] Leominster is located north of Worcester and northwest of Boston. Both Route 2 and Route 12 pass through Leominster.

The cemetery was enlarged in 1776, and again in the 1820s to reach its present size of three acres (1.2 ha). It was the city's only cemetery until 1840, when Evergreen Cemetery was opened to its northeast. It is the resting place for most of Leominster's early settlers, and for many of its 18th and 19th century political and business leaders. [2]
