Thelymitra, commonly known as sun orchids, is a genus of more than 100 species of plants in the orchid family, Orchidaceae.Unlike most other orchids, sun orchids lack a highly modified labellum and all three petals are similar in size, shape and colour.
Thelymitra irregularis is a tuberous, perennial herb with a single dark green, channelled, tapering linear leaf 100–200 mm (4–8 in) long and 3–4 mm (0.1–0.2 in) wide. Up to eight bright rose pink flowers with darker spots, 20–25 mm (0.8–1 in) wide are arranged on a flowering stem 200–400 mm (8–20 in) tall.
